Medici Museum of Art:

Mission and Vision

Founded under Foundation Medici in 1992, the Medici Museum of Art (MMA) became a publicly accessible educational institution in 2019, dedicated to enriching lives through the visual arts. As a nonprofit museum, MMA is committed to offering free access to exhibitions, collections, guided tours, and educational programs that serve all ages and backgrounds.

The museum’s mission is to promote a deeper understanding and appreciation of the visual arts—classic, modern, and contemporary—by fostering meaningful dialogue between tradition and innovation, the historical and the experimental. MMA seeks to illuminate connections across time, cultures, and ideas through thoughtfully curated exhibitions and dynamic programming.

Inspired by its namesake and founding partner, Foundation Medici—a visionary supporter of the arts—MMA aspires to be more than a repository of rare and beautiful works. It endeavors to be a vibrant cultural hub, a living canvas where artists, scholars, and community members converge to explore, create, and be inspired.

Medici Museum of Art is proud to serve as a platform for both local and international artists, cultivating creativity, accessibility, and public engagement in every facet of its mission.
