Volunteer Opportunities
Become a Medici Museum Guide – Volunteers Wanted!
Do you love art and enjoy connecting with people? The Medici Museum of Art is currently seeking enthusiastic volunteers to join our team as museum guides.
Museum guides play a vital role in introducing visitors—ranging from K–12 students to adult groups—to the Medici’s dynamic exhibitions. By leading engaging, one-hour tours, guides help make works of art meaningful, accessible, and often inspiring. Through thoughtful conversation and contextual insights, guides enhance the museum experience for all who visit.
What You’ll Do:
Select and research works from our extensive collection.
Lead interactive tours for school groups and adult visitors.
Foster deeper understanding of art through dialogue and storytelling.
Who Should Apply:
We welcome candidates of all backgrounds and abilities—no prior training in art or art history is necessary. If you’re passionate about learning and sharing art with others, we’d love to hear from you.
Training Program:
Our comprehensive training is led by museum educators, curators, and the executive director. You’ll learn from experts in the field through a series of lectures, group discussions, interactive workshops, written assignments, and practice presentations. Training includes the latest art scholarship and a deep dive into upcoming exhibitions.
Training for the upcoming volunteer class will include both in-person and virtual sessions to ensure accessibility and flexibility.
